Nursery fees in Jeddah are not a single fixed price. They are usually calculated from the child's age, the number of days per week, the hours attended each day and a small set of one-off items such as registration, and what is included varies from school to school. The fairest way to compare nurseries is to ask each one for the same breakdown and check what the fee actually covers. At Kawkab Al-Tifl Al-Hurr in Al Faisaliyyah, fees depend on the child's age, the number of days and the hours attended, and the exact figure is confirmed by phone or during a visit.
Why there is no single "nursery fee" in Jeddah
Parents often search for how much nursery costs in Jeddah and expect one answer. In practice, a daycare with long hours, a morning-only kindergarten and a Montessori nursery with trained guides and a full set of materials are offering different services, and their fees reflect that. Even within one school, two families can pay different amounts because their children attend on different days or for different hours. Understanding how the fee is built up lets you compare like with like. Our overviews of daycare in Jeddah and kindergarten in Jeddah explain how these types of setting differ.
The main factors that set the fee
- The child's age. Younger children need more adults per child, more help with toileting, feeding and rest, and more one-to-one attention, so the youngest groups are usually the most expensive. Older kindergarten groups with larger class sizes are typically less. If you are enrolling a two-year-old, read our guide to nursery for a 2-year-old in Jeddah first.
- The number of days per week. Most nurseries offer a full week and one or two part-time patterns. Fewer days means a lower fee, but the cost per day is often higher.
- The hours attended. A standard morning is the base. Early drop-off, extended afternoons or hourly care are usually charged separately, either as a fixed add-on or by the hour.
- The programme or stage. Schools that run several stages, for example Pre-KG (2–3), KG1 (3–4) and KG2 (4–5), may set a different fee for each, because the ratios and materials change as children grow.
- How you pay. Some nurseries quote per month, some per term and some per year. Paying for a longer period up front is often a little cheaper, but you should ask what happens if your child leaves early or you move house.
One-off and occasional items
Beyond the recurring fee, most nurseries in Jeddah have a short list of items that appear once a year or once at the start. Together they can change the real cost noticeably, so ask about every one of them before you sign.
- Registration or application fee, usually paid once when the child joins.
- Refundable deposit, returned when the child leaves, usually with notice conditions.
- Uniform, if the school uses one, including PE or summer versions.
- Materials or resource fee, sometimes bundled, sometimes separate.
- Meals and snacks, which may be included, optional or brought from home.
- Trips, events and celebrations through the year.
- Late collection charges for pick-ups after the agreed time.
- Summer programme, normally priced separately from the school year.
What is usually included
In most Jeddah nurseries the core fee covers the teaching programme, classroom materials, supervision throughout the agreed hours and standard parent communication such as a daily note or app updates. Snacks, meals, transport, uniform and extended hours most often sit outside it. Never assume; two schools can quote the same headline figure while one includes meals and the other does not.
Hidden-cost checklist
- Is the registration fee paid once, or again every year?
- Is the deposit refundable, and what notice period applies?
- Are fees charged for public holidays and school breaks?
- What happens to the fee if my child is ill for a long stretch?
- Is there a charge for changing from part-time to full-time, or the reverse?
- How are extra hours or hourly care billed, and is there a minimum?
- Are siblings treated differently, and how?
- Does the fee rise during the year, and how much notice is given?
- Which payment methods are accepted, and are instalments possible?
Questions to ask before you enrol
- Can you give me a written breakdown for my child's age, on the days and hours I need?
- Exactly what does that figure include, and what is extra?
- When is payment due, and what are the options?
- What is your withdrawal and refund policy?
- Is hourly or flexible care available, and how is it charged?
Ask every school the same questions and write the answers down. It removes most of the surprises families complain about later.
How fees work at Kawkab Al-Tifl Al-Hurr
We are a Montessori kindergarten in Al Faisaliyyah, Jeddah, with more than 10 years of experience, and we welcome children aged 3 to 5 across KG1 (3–4) and KG2 (4–5). We do not publish a price list online, because an honest figure depends on your child and your schedule: our fees depend on the child's age, the number of days and the hours attended, and the exact figure is confirmed by phone or during a visit. The programme includes Montessori work in a prepared environment, Arabic and English every day and Quran, with CCTV in the building and a parent app for daily updates. We are open Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and hourly care is available for families who need flexibility. If you would like to understand the approach before discussing fees, our guide to Montessori nurseries in Jeddah and our overview of nurseries in Jeddah are good places to start.
The quickest way to get an exact figure for your child is to ask. Message us on WhatsApp with your child's age and the days and hours you need, or book a visit, Sunday to Thursday between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, and we will go through everything in person.
